Indian (2001) is a Hindi-language action thriller directed by N. Maharajan and produced by Dharmendra. The film stars Sunny Deol, along with Shilpa Shetty, Danny Denzongpa, Raj Babbar, Mukesh Rishi, and Rahul Dev in key roles.
DCP Rajshekhar Azad lives a content life with his wife Anjali and their two children. He arrests Waseem Khan, a known extremist connected to influential businessman Shankar Singhania, who uses him to create instability in the country for personal benefit.
As the story unfolds, Rajshekhar learns that his father-in-law, DGP Surya Pratap Singh, is secretly involved in the same plan. When he confronts him, the situation leads to a tragic outcome, and Anjali, overwhelmed with grief, distances herself from her husband.
Determined to set things right, Rajshekhar takes action against Waseem Khan and teams up with a group of young individuals who could not join the police force. Together, they work to stop Shankar Singhania’s unlawful activities. In the end, Anjali discovers the truth about her father and reunites with Rajshekhar.
